Coffee syrups jazz up your coffee, allowing more variety for your coffee enjoyment.
Coffee syrups are available for all tastes, ranging from favorites like vanilla, hazelnut, nutmeg and toffee, and fruit flavors like coconut, banana and berry flavors. These come in handy when you want something more than your regular brewed and filtered coffee.
Flavored coffee syrups can be diet-friendly. Most coffee syrups are fat free and cholesterol free. If you're worred about weight gain, you can find some that are surgar free, and some are even certified vegetarian.
When shopping for flavored syrups, expect to may more for syrups with higher quality ingredients. The premium brands such as DaVinci, Monin and Dolce provide more flavor by adding more flavoring and less syrup, using fewer additives and more natural flavors when possible. The type of sweetener also affects the taste. Check the ingredients to find whether the syrup is uses fruit juice, or sugar from cane, corn or beets. Fruit juice and cane sugars are sweetest, which means they generally have more concentrated flavoring.
Premium flavorings with more concentrated taste will cost more to buy. But you will be able to use less syrup per cup, so the syrup will last longer. Also, higher quality syrups will enhance the experience of adding a new flavor to your cup. So go ahead and splurge a bit and buy quality. Why spoil a special treat with cheap syrup?
